WELCOME!

The Port of Astoria is at a critical juncture not unlike the 1930's when the economy and strategic partnerships were key to our community's survival!

When I was appointed to the Port of Astoria Commission, I emphasized financial accountability, active leadership, and the protection and repair of more than 20 Million dollars of your valuable Public Port Infrastructure, called the Port of Astoria.  I asked, "How can you know where you are going if you don't know where you have been?", and that is exactly the type of questions that need to be answered. The Port of Astoria will rekindle and find what we have to do to protect our valuable past and rebuild our economic future.

We have come a long way in these last 10 months, with the hiring of a new Port Director, to the fair and honest selection of a competent airline, the analysis and negotiation with Federal prosecutors in protecting your assets from troubled Port pasts, and by adding proven leadership skills to enhance and recover Port assets that were forgotten or overlooked in the Ports recent decline of continuity.  History does repeat itself, but with your help, we can manage and rebuild on the lessons of the troubled past and seek to create a successful, dependable future.

Thank you for electing me as Your Port of Astoria Commissioner.

Feel free to scan the pages and  learn more about how we can help our community reach the goals necessary to recover lost jobs and a rebuild a future for the Columbia River Basin, Clatsop County and the Port of Astoria!

Its time for us all to get back to work!

With Warm Regards,

Floyd E. Holcom, Port of Astoria Commissioner
